I've cheated by using this very old drawing made in a Lake District cottage. It was a lovely cosy room and looking at the sketch takes me right back there - the smells, sounds and atmosphere. A new year demands looking backwards as well as forwards, and a drawing has the power to act as a portal between times.
I'm feeling the same way out - mine's a drawing I did at Castel y Bere, with Alec Pearson, which I intend to make into a print (as I have several others from that weekend.
